i am a newbie to eclipse, but i want to work with EclipseMe
i have eclipse 3.2 in /usr/lib directory
and eclipse ganymede installed on Desktop
i have tried installing eclipse in both but was not possible.

1.Now my doubt is, can i have two versions 3.2 and 3.4 installed on same
machine but on different workspaces?
2. how to install EclipseMe ( i have tried using
help-> s/w updates -> avilable s/w ->add site
->http://eclipseme.org/updates -> and finally installing in ganymede
help-> s/w updates -> Find and install ->add
site ->http://eclipseme.org/updates

Thanks & Regards

Hello,
I do not recommend installing EclipseMe with Ganymede since it has given me a weeks of painful experiences. I recommend

DSDP - Mobile Tools for Java (http://www.eclipse.org/dsdp/mtj/)which is a really good plug in for eclipse. It is mentioned in the Eclipse me website too.(http://eclipseme.org/)

regarding your first question; If you want to run two eclipse runtimes, yes... you can run them in two different work spaces AND you can use the same workspace as long as you do not run both eclipse versions at the same time as well.
for the second question If you want to use EclipseMe still visit (http://eclipseme.org/)...It is easy..

So enjoy.

1. Is the functionality of DSDP and EclipseMe the same?
MTJ was started from the last version of EclipseME, thus it is
EclipseME plus many new features and bug fixes.
Post by Kusuma Pabba
2. Can i install EclipseMe on Eclipse 3.2?
At this point, it is unlikely that EclipseME or MTJ will work on
Eclipse 3.2. The version of Eclipse is very old.

using Eclipse?
You should be able to follow any JavaME tutorial using MTJ.

4. I have installed sun's Wireless Toolkit will that be useful?
You must have some wireless toolkit installed. Sun's toolkit should
be just fine.

Folks

Relating to this "getting started" thread: I don't know if this is of
any use, but I have documented the process of installing, testing the
whole tool chain (Java, Eclipse, WTK, MTJ), writing the first MIDlet etc.

http://www.acutetechnology.com/projects/J2ME/index

This is because I wanted to record how I had done it for my own future
reference (so I didn't have to go back to basics on a new installation)
and in the hope that it might be of help to others. I am also
accumulating tutorials on other subjects that I am intested in: NFC,
Java Card, and the motorola G24 embedded computer. It is not complete,
but possibly a useful start.
